The holiday season is here, and it’s the perfect time to come together and spread some festive cheer! The Mid West Simon Community is thrilled to invite schools across the region to join us in a special Christmas Giving Campaign. Together, let’s make this season a little brighter for those experiencing homelessness.
How Can Your School Participate?
This is an amazing opportunity for students and staff to rally together, show off their holiday spirit, and raise essential funds to support those in need. Here’s how your school can get involved:
- Choose a Date – Pick a day that suits your school schedule.
- Sign Up – Email us at info@mwsimon.ie to register your school.
- Set Up Donations – We can assist with an online donation page or provide collection buckets.
- Share the Festivities – Spread the word on social media to get the community involved!
Fun Ways to Get Involved!
Get creative with festive activities that students, staff, and the entire school community can enjoy:
- Christmas Jumper Contest: Organize a “Best Christmas Jumper” competition at your school! Students and teachers can sport their best holiday sweaters, with a small entry fee for each participant.
- Holiday Bake Sale: Pair your event with a holiday-themed bake sale or other fun activities, with proceeds going to the Mid West Simon Community.
- Christmas Walk: Encourage students to participate in a sponsored Christmas walk—fun, active, and perfect for the festive season! Use sponsor cards to raise funds for each step taken.
- Spread Cheer Through Carols: Is your school choir ready to spread holiday cheer? Host a public bucketing collection with carol singing! Lift spirits, share smiles, and raise funds in your local community.

Create Your Own Fundraising Event
Each year individuals, work colleagues, students and community groups rally together to raise crucial funds and awareness for Mid West Simon Community. From charity cycles to pub quizzes, the sky’s the limit when it comes to ways that you can make a difference to people experiencing homelessness. You can create your own event for Mid West Simon Community to help homeless people access the support they so desperately need. We can provide an online fundraising platform and are here to help you succeed.
